The Nebraska National Guard recently bestowed its Legion of Merit award to Bellevue University Professor Jon Kayne for his work with the Guard’s Peer Support Program. Kayne developed the course curriculum and has been the primary instructor for the program, which was established in 2005 to assist Guard members suffering from psychological trauma.

A 2004 survey of 120 American corporations, commissioned by the College Board’s National Commission on Writing, found that one-third of employees in the nation’s “blue-chip” companies wrote poorly. Bellevue University has launched a corporate writing initiative to help companies address this ongoing problem.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has named the Bellevue University volleyball team as one of its 2007-08 “scholar teams.”
