University preps for meeting of psychology minds

Bellevue University on Oct. 24-25 will host the annual joint convention of the Nebraska Psychological Society (NPS) and its Kansas equivalent, the Psychological and Educational Research in Kansas (PERK) organization.

The NPS/PERK Joint Convention will feature two keynote speakers: Dr. Janet Carlson, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, who is the president-elect of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology; and Dr. Ronald Thompson, director of the Boys Town National Research Institute. Also during the convention, college students from across Nebraska, Kansas and surrounding states will present their research on a wide spectrum of topics.

Convention events will be held in the R. Joe Dennis Learning Center, the Educational Services Building, the Hitchcock Humanities Center and the Margre H. Durham Student Center. This is the first time Bellevue University has hosted the NPS/PERK Joint Convention.

Bellevue University offers bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Science, as well as a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling.
