University sees increase in financial aid distribution

We hear plenty of bad news these days about the economy, including the ongoing credit crunch.

Here’s some good news, though, for Bellevue University students: The school’s Student Financial Services Department has already awarded more than $17 million in aid to students so far this academic year – a 16 percent increase from the same time last year.

This includes all of the major federal and state grant and loan programs. Also, the university has administered nearly $1.5 million in institutional scholarships this year.
